“Deby” (DBY 892M) is a Pontiac Firebird manufactured in Norwood Ohio in 1974 – originally in the basic trim level but later upgraded to the ‘Formula’ and ‘Trans Am’ trim and mechanical specifications.
The engine has been swapped for a General Motors 385 bhp FastBurn V8, with a Holley 750 cfm double-pumper carburettor, Edelbrock air intake and speedflow braided hoses.
The transmission is a Tremec TKO600 5-speed manual gearbox with a McLeod clutch and Hurst shifter.
Brakes have been uprated to SSBC discs all round, with Moroso callipers.
Suspension has Edelbrock and Monroe air shock absorbers front and rear, respectively, with a Moroso subframe and Hotchkis swaybars.
Exhaust is a ceramic-coated manifold by Doug’s Headers, with twin FlowMaster American Thunder 2.5″ steel tips.
Exterior bodywork finished in General Motors factory Red Jewel metallic paint, with hand-painted black stripes.
Front end replaced with a 1972 ‘Bullnose’.
Wheels have custom-made 7″ Atsromod hubcaps, with Goodyear Eagle GTII tyres.
