Panther Kallista

Although Panther launched the Kallista two seat sports car in 1982 at the British Motor Show. There are different Mks of Kallista, all with Ford running gear. The car on show is one of the last built by Panther and has a Ford 2.9 fuel injected V6 cologne engine with a Ford Type 9 gearbox. It is quite a fast car which will do 0 to 60 mph in 7.5 seconds and has a top speed of 120 mph, possibly because it also has an aluminum body.
Although Panther manufactured some limited edition cars namely the ‘Brooklands’ virtually all were manufactured to the customer’s own requirements, with regard to choice of engine, wheels, colour, interior trim so similar but identical cars are a rarity.
Although Panther manufactured about 1740 Kallistas in the UK; the 2.9i is possibly the most desirable because the company manufactured only about 300 cars.
