Jowett Javelin

Designed by Gerald Palmer whose most famous car design was the MG Magnette. Responsible for the complete design of the Javelin from road upwards. One and half litre overhead pushrod engine aluminium block cast iron head twin carbs. Torsion bar suspension all round trailing arms rear. Rack and pinion steering column change four speed box. Colour Golden Sand which was the new colour for 52.
23000 built last one in 54. When Jowett ceased production the company and work force were taken over by International Harvester to produce tractors. The Jowett Car Club is very active with section meets country wide and Jowett clubs abroad. The club runs its own spares department providing everything to keep Jowetts on the road.
