Land Rover 88 short wheelbase 7 seater station wagon safari
In 1960 the Land Rover was supplied new from Anna Valley Motors Salisbury to a local estate in the Wylye valley who used the Land Rover until being traded in in 1974 when i bought the vehicle to use in the local shoot.
During that time it sustained damage to the front near side wing and was then taken of the road and put into to storage were it stayed for some 37 years until i retired when it became my first job.
With the help of Philip Bashall who looks after the national Land Rover collection and the Land Rover Series 2 club we were able to recommission using all the original parts, apart for the rear window which had to be sourced from a donor vehicle.
So after some 60 years and with the DVLA registration being confirmed as a historic vehicle we are now back on the road and as the Land Rover has never left Wiltshire we thought a trip to Bath would be apt.
This is a very short history of this very genuine and special Land Rover.
