1959 MGA Roadster built in February 1959 and exported to California where it stayed until it was reimported in 1982 to the UK.
I bought it as just a rolling shell minus engine.Since then over a 12 year period it has undergone a complete restoration from the chassis up.The engine has been rebuilt with a lightened flywheel and all rotating parts have been balanced a fast road cam has been fitted along with a stage 2 cylinder head. All these mods make the engine run much smoother and give a bit more performance to enable it to keep up with modern traffic.
In 2005 the car was driven to Le Mans in France as part of the 50th Birthday celebrations for the MGA ( it was in June 1955 that BMC drove three pre production cars from Abingdon to compete in the 24 hour race)The car completed the 650 mile round trip without any problems and was a pleasure to drive in the French sunshine.
During the winter of 2005 the car was fitted with an ant roll bar and a 5 speed gearbox conversion
