1959 MGA ROADSTER
This car was imported from the USA in 1982 as just a
rolling shell needing total restoration ; since then it has
undergone a complete rebuild from the chassis upwards
using refurbished or new original parts where ever
possible.
The engine has been rebored and the crankshaft
reground.
The flywheel has been lightened and the crankshaft
clutch, front pulley and flywheel assembly have been
fully balanced along with the pistons and conrods
A fast road cam, stage 2 cylinder head and a tubular 3
branch exhaust manifold have been fitted.
These engine modiflcations make the engine run much
smoother and give it a bit more performance to enable it
to keep up with modem day cars.
The gearbox has been completely stripped and all
bearings and thrust washer replaced to bring all
tolerances back to factory originals.
The dash board gauges are all original and have been
refurbished along with all the electrical components.
The interior has been completely retrimed and the seats
re-upholstered on there original frames.
The wire wheels have been replaced with 60 spoke items
which were available as extras when the car was new, the
originals being 48spoke,but if these are used with
modem radial tyres the spokes tend to break
because of the additional grip.
The car was completed in June 2003and has been used as
much as possible in dry weather ever since
