Morris Minor Traveller

Vehicle Reg No: OBM 67H
Year: 1970

This car was first registered on 13th April 1970. I am the sixth owner, the car having previously been enjoyed for 23 years by a lady from Bristol.
The car, which has been completely refurbished by Charles Ware’s Morris Minor Centre Bristol in early 2018, is fitted with a reconditioned 1275cc ‘A’ Series engine driving through a five speed Ford gearbox. Other upgrades include Servo assisted brakes, alternator, leather front seats, rear seatbelts and halogen lights.
The Morris Minor Traveller’s production run lasted 17 years from September 1953 to April 1971. Travellers were sold to all three armed services as well as the police partly because of the flexibility of the interior volume which can be reconfigured using fold-down rear seats to prioritise either passenger or load carrying space.
The first Minor of this type was marketed in October 1953 as the Morris Minor Station Wagon (from the American custom of calling panelled estate cars Station Wagons) but shortly after dubbed the “traveller’s car” hence Traveller.
