My car was originally displayed in a museum in the US for many years before import by the previous owner in 2012.. Some renovation work was required on arrival and the car was cosmetically improved with a fresh gold paint job and a new magnolia leather interior. It still has the original 289ci (4.7L) engine) Although I have fitted a new electronic distributor and coil. The brakes have been completely overhauled and the original crossply tyres have been changed to radials for better road holding. It has a 3 speed column gear change and no power steering, brakes or windows which makes driving a challenge in London!
My car is a 1960 model and 1961 was the last year of this design before the GT Hawk was introduced for the last 3 years of production until 1965 when Studebaker finally closed its doors in America,. The Hawk series was first introduced in 1956 and some were exported in RHD form to Australia and South Africa.
