The Rotary Club of Bath is a membership organisation serving the city of Bath, bringing together people who offer their time and expertise to support charitable causes both locally and internationally. We are a member of Rotary International, an international organisation set up to provide humanitarian service and advance goodwill and peace around the world.
The Rotary Club of Bath first ran the Bath Festival of Motoring in 1992 to raise funds for buying Wizzybugs for the Bath Institute of Medical Engineering (BIME) now retitled Designability.
Wizzybugs have powered wheelchairs for children under 5 and as a result of the efforts of the Rotary Club and the continuation of annual Festivals of Motoring, the public and national profile of the Wizzybug was elevated and £250 000 was raised.
More recently other local charities The Rotary Club of Bath have supported include:
Time2Share – offering volunteer befriending services and group activities to young disabled people and their families in Bristol, Bath and NE Somerset
Freewheelers EVS – a voluntary motorcycle fleet that offers an out-of-hours, free-of-charge courier service to the NHS, transporting blood and other essential medical supplies.
Bath Festival of Motoring is raising money primarily for three charities that are close to our hearts, at this year’s Festival.
The Great Western Air Ambulance Charity saves lives across Bristol, Bath, and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, and North Somerset.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance can reach anywhere within Wiltshire in 11 minutes, or to the centre of Bath in just four minutes from thier airbase in Semington.
And St. Mungo’s are ending homelessness, rebuilding lives across the South West.
In addition to your entry ticket to this year’s event, we’d like you to visit their websites, and consider other ways you might choose to support these great charities.
